Incoming Executive Director

A professional life devoted to elevating knowledge as the most effective conduit to strong, respectful international relations brings Tracey A. Johnson to Colorado Springs World Affairs Council as its next Executive Director.

Tracey’s resume includes a stint at Langley, VA, as a CIA intelligence analyst specializing in Latin America (1986-88), practicing as an attorney with a maritime firm specializing in federal litigation in Houston, TX, (1991-1994), and successful work volunteering with and leading Colorado Springs’ non-profits such as the Junior League of Colorado Springs (2008). In 2011, Tracey was elected to the Academy District 20 Board of Education and subsequently served two four-year terms on that school board (2011-2019), where she was a board officer for six of the eight years there, the final two years as president. Tracey was also concurrently on the boards of the Colorado Association of School Boards and the Colorado High School Activities Association during 2017-2019.

Tracey graduated from Rice University in 1985 with a dual degree in Political Science and Spanish and later from the University of Houston Law Center with a JD in 1991. She is a trained mediator and offers independent arbitration services. Tracey and her husband, Doug, have three sons and have lived in Colorado Springs since 2001. .
